Prohuman Foundation and Recent Media Appearances

History Killers’ own James M. Masnov, who is also the founder and editor in chief of the History is Human Journal, is now a Prohuman Ambassador for the Prohuman Foundation, a nonpartisan nonprofit which seeks to uplift people through recognition of our shared humanity. Along with becoming an ambassador for the foundation, James’s historical analysis has already proven to be an asset to the organization, as its publication, Prohuman Pathways, has published an examination of the American founding that James has authored.

In other news, George Washington University’s independent student-run newspaper, The Hatchet, recently interviewed James M. Masnov for their piece commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The newspaper sought out up and coming historians at GW to discuss American history and its relevance to our times. As a Columbian Distinguished Fellow at George Washington University’s History Department, James was asked about how his own work (including his book, Rights Reign Supreme: An Intellectual History of Judicial Review and the Supreme Court, available here), as well as his ongoing work involving American constitutional history, connects the nascent United States of 250 years ago to today. The name of George Washington University’s independent student newspaper, The Hatchet, is an homage to the apocryphal story—made popular by Parson Weems in the nineteenth century—about the young Washington chopping down a cherry tree. Though a complete myth, it endures as a story associated with George Washington and his sense of honor.
